Why hello there 2011!  How lovely to see you!  I’m told that you and I are going to be seeing quite a bit of each other over the next little while, which quite frankly, makes me pretty excited!  Before we do though, I think that I should let you know that I’ve just recently come out of a pretty long term relationship with a good friend of yours, better known as 2010.  And I’m not going to lie, we had a really good time together!  Oh, the people we met and moments we captured!  We laughed, we cried, we saw the sun rise and we witnessed the birth of the most beautiful baby boy.  I know that I shouldn’t compare, but what can I say…2010 brought me flowers…and what girl doesn’t love flowers?!?!  I suppose if we’re being really honest here, it would be safe to say that 2010 was one of my best and will forever have a very special place in my heart {as all of my best relationships do!}.  Damn…2010 was good!

I think that we both know that long term love can be hard 2011, but I’m willing to go the distance if you are.  I know that 2010 is a tough act to follow but I believe in you…I know you can do it!  Just remember these three golden rules: 1. Rain is lovely…but not on the days when I have to shoot a wedding!  2. I like to win contests!  A lot!  The more you throw my way, the better!  3. Weeks on end of 40 degree temperatures in the summer is really not necessary!  Please find another way to show the world who’s boss!

I hope you wrote those down 2011 because there’s going to be a test on it later!

So don’t worry…I know that you’re new at this and everything…but I think that you and I are going to get along just fine!  Besides, we’ve still got a bit of time to get to know each other!
