KATIE & ANDREW: ENGAGEMENT

As many of you know…there’s lots of big changes coming down the pipes for our family in the very near future!

In five shorts weeks, we’ll be moving to our new house…in our new neighborhood…and offering up some new adventures!  It’s a been a labour of love for us to make this change for our family and one that has taken a lot of prayers…a lot of late night talks…and a lot of time spent with excel spreadsheets!

But alas, we’re almost there!

The greatest part about this change is that it finally provides us with the opportunity to combine our collective histories into a new living space that appeals to the best of both worlds.  My husband is a country boy at heart – growing up on a rural route and taking a car to go trick or treating at Halloween.  I – on the other hand – am forever a city girl…and didn’t get my driver’s license until I was twenty-five because I never needed my driver’s license until then.

Country boy meets city girl!

So, our new piece of paradise was perfectly carved out for both of us; close to amenities and downtown…yet surrounded by green space and country living.  We couldn’t have asked for anything better!

So far though, we haven’t really shared much of the new house with too many others.  As we’ve worked so diligently on the details of building and the task of selling our current place, we’ve only really brought a few friends and family to our new neighborhood.

Until now!

One of the things that I definitely wanted to do as we anticipate the weeks ahead, was to do one of my shoots near the new house.  The area is so stunning during this time of year and I wanted to start opening up our new life to my current life a little bit more.  And frankly, there was no better couple to share that with than Katie and Andrew!

Though the session was my first time actually meeting Andrew, I completely adored Katie from the first moment that I met her!  We talked for hours [yes…HOURS!] during our first meeting and I can tell already that this sweet girl is stuck with me for a while now!!!

Needless to say that bringing these two to what will soon be my new stomping grounds was pretty great!  Almost as great as Katie’s amazing laugh or conversations with Andrew about the Walking Dead.  Almost!

So, without further ado…I would like to introduce you to Katie and Andrew…and my new ‘hood!!!

Whaaaat? I thought I recognized these spots, neighbour! Incredible light and great chemistry. Those first 3 photos should be a triptych on canvas!
