Few things bring me as much joy as the very first snow fall of the season!

I love the way the air smells different…the way everything seems quieter…the way the world just seems a little bit softer.  Something about that first snowfall makes me want to run out and buy a new ornament for our Christmas tree and a box of Turtles!  I don’t know why…I just can’t help it!!

And then I became a photographer and that beautiful snow brought with it a whole new kind of magic; a magic that I can’t resist shooting in…even during the coldest of temperatures.

When I woke up on the day of Gillian and Phil’s engagement shoot…the world was still green.  The trees were bare…the wind was cold…the sky was cloudy.  And then a few short hours later…it fell.  The first snow flake of our first real snow fall.  And once that first snow flake left the heavens…the rest came crashing down with a vengeance!!!  Two hours later…we were transformed!

By the time I finally met the two of them downtown, the clouds had parted…the sun came out…and that special brand of magic was about to make its first appearance in front of my camera!  And it was beautiful!  With wool coats…warm knits…and a snuggle or two, Gillian and Phil were total all stars at adjusting to our new setting!

Internet, say hello to my inaugural winter couple!!  They are kind of spectacular!
