We both sat at our table for about twenty minutes before realizing we were actually waiting for each other!  Not more than ten feet from each other…but a concrete pillar to my left completely blocked our view of one another.  And yet, we waited.  We continued to drink our coffee and we waited.

Eventually, we locked eyes.  Noticing each other for the first time.  We smiled.  We laughed.  We moved our tables together and decided to join forces.

This is how Morgane, Alex and I met for the first time.  Over delayed coffee and a good story to tell.  Three hours later, we packed up our bags and headed home, barely having spoken about their wedding plans at all.  Three hours.  Three hours of books, music, movies, childhood stories and ending with a text from my husband asking if I was coming home at all that night!!

I really can’t even begin to tell you how much I adore this amazing couple.  Their laugh…their chemistry…their kindness.  They are the type of couple that makes three hours pass in the blink of an eye…and leaves you wishing for more.  We’ve still got a ways to go before their big day.  The snow needs to thaw…the flowers need to bloom…the warm sun needs to shine down on us again.

But on the day of their engagement session, that’s exactly what happened.  A surprise in the weather took us – for the briefest of moments – from winter to Autumn all over again.  We peeled off the heavy layers…dug out a few bright colours…and embraced the warmth being bestowed on us for one more day.

It was one of the most perfect ways to spend the first few early morning hours of the day.  It was fun…it was easy…it was – in a word – bliss.

And it really shouldn’t have surprised me at all because, as I’ve learned up until now, so are Morgane and Alex…
