We used to call it the “Avery Effect”!

It was the way we used to instantly calm down the moment we held our baby girl in our arms.  Our breathing would get deeper…our heart rate would decrease…our voice would get softer.  Holding her was just…magic.

Often times, when I was feeling especially anxious during Hudson’s early days, Steve would make me sit in our over-sized chair by the window and just hold him.  And then I was better.  We didn’t have a name for it when Hudson was a baby…but the effect was the same.  Calming…soothing…healing.

Having a newborn was the most dramatically overwhelming life change I had ever experienced…and it’s easy for me to forget sometimes that their presence was also one of the most wonderfully peaceful times as well.  I’m so thankful that I get to be reminded every now and then…

The week of baby Reese’s shoot was during one of the busiest weeks of my entire year.  I was stressed…I was exhausted…I was slightly off kilter.  But just like my own babies when they were little…spending a couple of hours with beautiful little Reese was exactly what I needed!

Her gorgeous eyes…her adorable feet…and of course – her outstanding parents [who you will, no doubt, recognize] were the perfect remedy for my frazzled self.  Catching up with two of my favourite clients…cuddling with their sweet little girl…and just slowing down.  It was pure bliss and exactly what the doctor ordered!

World, please say hello to beautiful baby Reese!  She’s magic too…
