Did I ever tell you how my parents chose my name?

Apparently, my parents had been going back and forth for months trying to decide on a girl’s name for me…and it just wasn’t coming to them.  Then, one night, not long before I was born, then went to see a movie together featuring the actress, Genevieve Bujold.  And the moment they saw her name appear on the screen…they looked at each other and knew; if they had a baby girl…that would be her name.

My name is actually Gaelic for white wave and while it took me a long time to warm up to it…once I read about it’s origins…I started to find it more endearing.  Maybe it’s why I love water so much!

But naming a child is hard.  It’s a big responsibility and ultimately, a choice that someone else has to live with.

Kayla and Tony have been in front of my camera so many times!  Hands down – one of my all time favourite couples to photograph.  As far as pictures go, we’ve been through a lot together!!

Back in the last months of winter, we met up for a quick maternity session and started to discuss the possible names they were considering for their little boy.  And the moment I heard the front runner, I nearly dropped my camera with excitement!  Because it was perfect!  Beyond perfect, even!

It was an ideal balance of classic and edgy…refined and rugged…friendly and fierce.  Basically, it was an absolute perfect balance of Tony and Kayla!!!

Ladies and gentlemen…I would like you to meet Jackson Wolf…one of the cutest little dudes you’ll ever meet…
