I just love a great road trip!  Getting in our SUV, with a long day ahead of us and our favourite playlist on our iPod.  Sometimes I wish that we could just always be on a road trip with no particular place to go.  There are times when nothing feels better than just driving away from the world.

When Steve and I first started dating, he picked me up one Saturday morning with his car and a bag full of my favourite candy!  “You’ll find out when we get there!”, he told me.  After a few hours of driving, we arrived at a beautiful river in the woods…a place where he and his family used to go camping when he was young.  Steve and I weren’t officially “a couple” at this time but something about just being out on the road together really made things official.  Spending hours just chatting and laughing, with no distractions and no time limit.  By the time we got back to Ottawa later that night, we found ourselves at this amazing new place in our relationship…that place where everything starts…forever.

We’re on the road again right now.  Not on a date but on a whirlwind tour of South Western Ontario.  With our little boy in the back seat, all of my camera equipment and of course, bags full of candy!!  My mission; to hope that the weather holds out and shoot of all of my out-of-town brides before the season gets under way.  Four shoots in four days and an entire week of thunderstorms in the forecast!  It should be interesting!!!!

Our road trips have certainly changed over the years since that first one that we took; we have a bigger car, an extra member of the family and whole new destinations…but every time, without fail…I always come home a little more in love with my husband than when we left!
