WHEN IT RAINS

You know that expression “when it rains…it pours”?  Well, used to think that was always a slight exaggeration of sorts…an over-dramatization of life in its smallest of sample sizes!!  The past couple of weeks, however, have shown me that not only is the perfect storm possible…but that it also has an uncanny way of showing you exactly who’s boss!!

Without going into a boat load of details, the past fifteen days for us have included pink eye, a repetitive muscle strain injury, an upper respiratory virus, four blood tests and a computer on the fritz for three days {I don’t know…maybe it didn’t want to be left out of the Smyth Family Ailment Festivities!}.  For better or for worse, we have had a combined total of sixteen various doctors appointments over the course of the past two weeks.  Add to that the record breaking heat that we’ve been enduring here in Ottawa during the last four days and life has felt – in a word – ridiculous!

Anyways, now that we are finding ourselves getting back to some sort of resemblance around here, we felt that we deserved a self-declared vacation.  A little “time out” from the rain storm!  So we’re taking off tomorrow morning to visit with some friends for four days.  We’re going to hang out on the beach…drink some wine…play with our kiddos…and make up for some lost time with people near and dear to our heart.  We’ll call it antibiotics for the soul!

Before we head out though, not only did I want to share a little glimpse of the cottage inspired engagement session that I’ve been working on {more from Jen and Mike’s shoot to come soon!} but I also wanted to give you a peek at the GORGEOUS wedding album that we just finished up for Lauren and Joe {visit our Facebook page for more album pictures!}!  I just love when those exciting parcels arrive in the mail…especially when I know that it’s about to put a permanent smile on the face of one of my brides!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!
