Confession…

I used to model as a teenager.  Or rather, I used to model as a preteen…once the overly awkward stage of growing into my legs had passed me by and back when it was still cool to be 5’8″ and 110 pounds!  I didn’t do it for very long.  Mostly because I couldn’t handle the strict diet and crazy rule about tan lines!!  But I actually really loved it at the time.  I loved wearing pretty clothes…I loved getting my make-up done…and I loved being instructed from behind the camera…

I loved learning about body language…the psychology of how the eye visually sees the world…and how all of this helps to create dynamics that engage the viewer.  It’s an art…truly.  And it was an experience that has helped me to appreciate my own work so much more.

The one thing I learned very early on – while behind the camera – is that it’s absolutely not something that comes naturally to everyone.  Everyone does have it – that natural and wonderfully photogenic side of themselves – but it can take a little more nudging to lure it out of some than it does for others.

Mélissa and Rémi were not two of those people!  From the very first frame out of my camera…they blew my mind.  Seriously!  Blew.My.Mind!  They had this incredible chemistry both together and in front of my camera that required absolutely nothing on my part.  All I had to do was just stand there and take in all of the awesomeness!

I said it on Facebook and I’ll say it here…I died a thousand deaths photographing them!!!  It was that easy…it was that amazing…and they were just that good!  I could hardly even handle it!
