I’m not going to lie…I was afraid to have a second baby.  It’s not that I didn’t want one…it’s that I didn’t know if I could do it.

The moment I found out I was pregnant with our daughter, I was filled with both immense excitement and profound apprehension.  Being an only child meant that I didn’t know anything about sibling dynamics and furthermore, I didn’t know anything about raising more than one child.  I was worried that I didn’t have enough patience…time…or love in me for another beautiful little baby.

As it turns out, children are kind of awesome at bringing out the most unexpected in us.  And our daughter made me love harder…laugh longer…and stand stronger.

I got to spend the morning with a beautiful family as they welcomed their newest little addition home.  And anytime I find myself photographing siblings in the early days…it reminds me of how much our own world opened up when we brought our little girl home.  It reminds me of how a tiny little seven pound child can make us all the most amazing people.

And it just never gets old watching the world get better!
