I’m a home body. Through and through. Few things make me happier than routine and familiarity. In all honesty, the best part of traveling for me, is coming home!
But I have always wondered what it would be like to make somewhere else ‘home’ for a while. I’ve wondered what it would be like to take our family over a grand and beautiful ocean…and make our home somewhere else for a bit. Not permanently. Not indefinitely. But for just enough time to expand our horizons and strengthen our ties.
I don’t imagine that it’s always easy navigating a new place as a couple. We all cope with new territory a bit differently and it’s hard to know what kind of impact that sort of distance can do to people.
Stephanie and Mike have done just that though. They moved across a grand and beautiful ocean to start a life in a brand new place for awhile. They navigated the changes and the challenges…and they came out better than ever on the other end.
They also planned a wedding in the midst of it all. I met with them during their briefest of visits back to Canada over the holidays. We drank coffee…laughed hysterically…then said goodbye for another four months!
But now they are home…
A little bit wiser…a little bit more British…and a little bit closer to their much anticipated wedding day!
