Have you ever noticed sometimes how – when it rains…it pours?!?!  I’m almost certain that during every major life decision we make…four other inevitably follow and everything gets flipped upside down!

When my husband and I were on our honeymoon, we received two job offers and we had to choose one before we got home.  When we moved into our first home, we had also planned a month long trip to Australia and started new jobs at that same time as well.  It’s almost like this momentum that happens when we open our lives to change.

Lauren and Mike know this well!  They are getting married in a month and at the time that we took their engagement, they were in the midst of moving to a new city…looking for new jobs…starting new ventures.  And I know from first hand experience that it can be a lot sometimes.  Daunting.  Overwhelming.  All consuming.

But, if I’ve learned anything from the array of change that my husband and I have gone through…the endless decisions that have had to be made…the downpours that we endured…it’s that going through it together is really the foundation of what makes a solid marriage to begin with.  It’s taking the shaky and unsteady ground of life and walking through – one step at a time – together.  It’s finding new restaurants and building a new home.  It’s changing your goals and remembering a new postal code.  It’s creating a life.  Together.  Through it all.

And while these two may have another month before they become officially married…they’ve certainly got the rock solid part figured out already!!
