If I’ve learned anything significant throughout my adult life…it’s that the experience really does mean more than the end result.  Of course, this isn’t anything that every Hallmark card or motivational poster ever made hasn’t already told us…but still…they’re not wrong!

And nothing has taught me this more than photography!

The sessions I remember most aren’t necessarily the ones that are the most visually stunning in the end…they tend to be the ones that stand out to me the most on the way to the end.  The ones where we laughed…and got lost…and were chased away by the calls of coyotes out in the distance.  It’s the ones where only we will ever truly know what went into getting the end result.  And by default, I end seeing all of that in the final images.

Those are my favourites!

Isabelle & Graham’s engagement session started out with my GPS not being able to pin point our chosen location (always a good sign!) and it taking me a little over two hours to finally arrive at said location!!  We stood in swamps…got attacked by nature…and as a whole, just spent the majority  of time saying “I wonder if this will work?!?!”

So, there you have it…the makings of a truly memorable time photographing two people in love!!!

And hopefully, in the end, what you see is just as good as what it took to get there!
