My niece asked me a little while ago about my work.  About what it was that I did all day.  When I sat down and tried to explain to her the inner workings of my life behind the camera, she sat quietly…inquisitively…excitedly.  “Just so I’m clear, Auntie Gen”, she said in her sweet little voice…”you make princesses!”

That wouldn’t have been the first way that I would have described my craft…but I like it…so I’m going with it!!!

I honestly don’t know a single girl who hasn’t longed to be a princess.  We’ve all watched too many Disney movies during our childhood to not fall under the spell.  And hopefully, at one time or another, we all have been.  Or at the very least, felt like one [which matters far more than actually being one].

In a lot of ways, my niece is right; I spend a lot of my days watching a princess come to life.  Watching a love that knows no bounds.  Watching the world become a better place.  And just like in the movies…it’s magical.  Because celebrating is magical and joy is magical and the ties that bind us are magical.  Mostly though, because love is magical.

I think if my niece had been around to watch Anastasia and Nic get married…she would have felt like she was walking through the pages of a fairytale.  From the dress…to the details…to the dance around the ballroom floor.  It was a day for the record books.  A day where a princess and her prince charming began the story of a lifetime.

A day that could only end in happily ever after…
