Did you know that I got engaged at home??

It was a beautiful Wednesday in July and I came home after work to the man of my dreams down on one knee, asking the question of a lifetime.  It was amazing.  He was amazing.  And he knew that asking me at home was – by far – the most romantic place for the two of us to start our life together.  To this day, I can’t think of a better place.

As far as romance goes, I’m kind of hopeless!  I love all of the big moments…the little moments…the grand gestures…and the subtle happenings.  But when it comes to romantic settings…I have three, in particular, that make the top of my list; home, near water, and by a fireplace or campfire.  I don’t know what it is…but I feel like life happens at its best in one of these settings.

So, when I showed up at Emily & Hugh’s new home for their engagement session, only to discover that it was right along the St. Lawrence River and had a roaring fire in the backyard…all of my romantic dreams were coming true!!!  And for those who have been coming to this blog for a while, you know that – thanks to David Usher – I have an especially warm place in my heart for the St. Lawrence River!!

To say that the evening was bliss is a bit of an understatement.  The dramatic clouds, the setting sun, the rippling waves.  It all provided the most perfect of backdrops for me to introduce you to one of next season’s amazing couples!
