Alright, guys…I think it’s time we have a little chat about winter!!

I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I hear couples say “oooohhhh…I can’t wait to have our engagement session…but not in the winter.  Obviously.”

My first question ends up being “why?  why not in the winter?”

It’s usually at this point when they start to look at each other and question whether or not hiring me was really the right decision!!  But hear me out…

Winter is amazing!  Yes, it’s cold and windy and a bit “unconventional”…but it’s also white and magical and gorgeous!  Not to mention, it’s unique.  Granted, it may not be unique to those of us living in the True North…but generally speaking, it’s rare.

I have watched so many photographers try to “make” winter so that they can photographically experience the one thing we take for granted during half the year.

All of this to say, it’s worth it.  It’s always worth the cold toes…the longer session…the challenges that come with three feet of snow.  It’s worth it.

I even have Kate and Brett to prove it for me…
